The Atmospheric Sciences Department at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science is seeking a half-time Lecturer to teach primarily within the undergraduate meteorology program. The base teaching load for a half-time position is two courses per semester. The teaching assignment would primarily include up to three sections per year of the Introduction to Weather and Climate class intended for the larger student population at U of Miami. Other potential undergraduate classes include Introduction to Python Programming - a requirement for the Rosenstiel BS - and Climate Change, a general education course. We are also considering developing a new undergraduate general education course tentatively titled Hurricanes and Their Impacts for fall of 2028. The position may also encompass teaching within the Master's of Professional Science program. The successful applicant will be involved in curriculum development as needed and encouraged to design and implement new courses when relevant. A Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences or a related field is preferred. Must have some teaching experience at the university level. Successful candidates will provide a statement on their teaching philosophy and experience. The position would begin spring semester of 2027.
