Description:The Childhood and Adolescence Resilience (CARE) Lab at the University of Notre Dame, directed by Dr. Elizabeth Shewark, is seeking a full-time project coordinator, to begin July 1st, with some flexibility of start date. We are a highly collaborative group that broadly conducts research on how contextual influences (i.e., family, school, and neighborhoods) and individual genetic influences jointly impact the development of youths' competence and resilience.

Under the supervision of Dr. Elizabeth Shewark, the project coordinator will play a vital role in the CARE lab working on an NIH-funded project focused on how neighborhoods promote resilience in youth and families experiencing economic-related stress. Responsibilities include data collection with families, geospatial data collection and creation of data, IRB protocol submissions and reports, overseeing study progress and administration. The individual in this position will supervise a team of student research assistants on ongoing research projects. There will be professional development opportunities available for this position.

Duties include:

  • Managing a team of undergraduates collecting neighborhood and family level data, including tracking progress and training new team members

  • Assisting in data collection protocols and carrying out data collection

  • Family visits, collecting and creating geospatial data, conducting virtual neighborhood audits, data entry, and data analysis

    Qualifications:
    Required

    Bachelor's degree in psychology or related discipline

    At least 6 to 12 months of research related experience

    Experience with and/or strong interest in working with children from various backgrounds

    Experience with and/or strong interest in conducting family and neighborhood research

    Strong communication and public relations skills

    Strong interpersonal, organizational, managerial, and supervisory skills

    Schedule flexibility, available for evenings and weekends

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary

    Preferred but NOT required

    Experience with and knowledge of statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Mplus, ArcGIS pro)

    Excellent written communication skills

    Data collection experience with children

    Experience training and supervising others

    Ability to interact positively with research participants and fellow lab members

    Availability for study sessions on evenings and weekends
