Occupational Health Nurse
Job Requirements
Under general supervision, the Occupational Health Nurse performs varied nursing and administrative duties.These duties include but are not limited to conducting health management programs, team member placement evaluations, treatment of minor injuries/illnesses, immunization and serological/skin testing, wellness activities, health/safety education and counseling, maintaining and updating policies and procedures, providing reports and maintaining Occupational Health records.The Occupational Health Nurse will work closely with the Infection Prevention Department for the surveillance, control, and prevention of communicable diseases in the team member population.The Occupational Health Nurse will also work closely with the Medical Director of Upper Chesapeake Primary Care in the management and treatment of all team member work related injuries.Provides feedback to the hospital Safety Officer regarding environmental hazards identified during accident investigations involving injured team members.Acts as a resource and consults with all levels of personnel on Occupational Health concerns.Has routine contact with individuals ranging in age from adolescents to geriatric.
Work Experience
Education & Training:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure in the State of Maryland.Maintains BCLS certification.BSN preferred. Work Orientation & Experience:Five (5) years of general acute care nursing experience is required.Occupational Health background is preferred.Must possess working knowledge of personal computer with both word processor and spreadsheet software.Working knowledge of physical assessment required.
