This role works closely with engineering to ensure standards are followed during test setup, execution and reporting. The person should have demonstrated leadership-level expertise in laboratory operations, including governance of test equipment, test software, calibration programs, and preventative maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable lab performance.<h2></h2><h2><span class="emphasis-3">Position</span></h2>Senior Engineering Technician<h2></h2><h2><span class="emphasis-3">Location</span></h2>USA, Louisville, KY<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3">How You'll Create Possibilities</span></h2><ul><li>Apply unique technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of appliances, specialized test-environment equipment & software, and related industry standards to review test plans for appropriateness, modify test setups as required, and calibrate the test environment.</li><li>Interpret test standards to confirm setup and the appropriate method to use to determine test stability, a valid test, and produce a test summary report.</li><li>Confirm TRs contain the required information for each selected test and ensure supplies are on hand for the required test(s).</li><li>Perform a quarterly inventory of supplies on hand needed for regulatory testing.</li><li>Perform PM checks on test equipment to ensure testing is accurate.</li><li>Maintain a list of calibrated equipment, prepare equipment for calibration or send out for calibration, and ensure equipment is calibrated before regulatory testing within the DOE for the Washers area.</li><li>Move engineering samples between the test area, preparation area, and storage areas.</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3">What You'll Bring to Our Team</span></h2><ul><li>Experience with Engineering Test Procedures (ETPs)</li><li>Thorough understanding of standards (ETP, UL, AHAM, CFR, ANSI.)</li><li>Demonstrated leadership-level expertise in laboratory operations, including governance of test equipment, test software, calibration programs, and preventative maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable lab performance.</li><li>Ability to independently lead work with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgment to set priorities, resolve issues, and drive results aligned with business objectives.</li><li>Proven capability to manage multiple priorities through strong time management, organizational discipline, and attention to detail, ensuring commitments are met in a dynamic, schedule-driven environment.</li><li>Recognized mechanical and technical aptitude to lead and guide effective unit setup using lab testing fixtures, serving as a technical resource for others in the lab.</li><li>Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for unit setup with lab testing fixtures.</li></ul><p></p><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in laboratory environments with increasing responsibility, including troubleshooting Appliances, test stations, or similar complex equipment.</li><li>2-year technical degree or military equivalent.</li><li>Certified to perform energy testing on appliances per ISO 17025.</li></ul><p></p><p>Working Conditions:</p><ul><li>Working conditions are normal for an office environment and a lab.</li><li>Physically capable of supporting hands-on lab operations, including movement and management of large appliances (washers, dryers, stacked laundry units, combination (Combo “all in one” units), while ensuring safe work practices and mentoring others on proper handling.</li><li>May require occasional weekend work to meet business needs/deadlines.</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3"><b>Our Culture</b></span></h2><p style="text-align:left"><span>Our work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D).
