The Staff Accountant supports general accounting, monthly reconciliations, account analysis, reporting, controls and compliance, and process improvements for Leica Biosystems (LBS) in the Americas. This role assists with operating company ledger accounting and compliance and needs to stay current on changes in accounting standards. This position reports to the Director of Accounting Shared Services and is part of the finance team located in Deer Park, IL and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Manage the general ledger, including accrued expenses, prepaid assets, and all recurring and adjusting accounting entries. Drive key activities in the monthend close process to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines, including month end account reconciliations. Deliver data, analysis, and insights to management, and contribute to special projects and adhoc reporting. Support SOX compliance activities and coordinate responses for internal and external audit requests. Collaborate with the Manager to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
The essential requirements of the job include: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related fields with 2+ years experience OR Master's degree in field with 0+ years experience Related experience in an accounting role; working in multinational company environment preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate Excel skills Working knowledge of requirements of US GAAP and SOX.

The annual salary range for this role is $75,000 to $90,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
