Our client is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant in Fresno, Ca!

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Management:
* Oversee the entire AP process, including invoice verification, coding, and payment processing.
* Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices and expense reports.
* Monitor and manage AP aging reports and resolve discrepancies promptly.
* Enhance efficiency and internal controls.

General Accounting Duties:
* Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
* Conduct month-end and year-end close processes; including bank & credit card reconciliations
* Responsible for the intercompany accounting process
* Weekly ACH and wire postings for multiple entities
* Post journal entries in accounting system & review other journal entries as assigned
* Fixed asset accounting
* Administration of banking relationships
* Monthly and quarterly state tax preparation and filing
* Some knowledge of payroll processing, reporting, & taxes
* Vendor management

Financial Reporting and Analysis:
* Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
* Generate and analyze financial reports to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

Team Leadership:
* Assist in maintaining the accounting systems
* Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and resolve any AP-related issues.
* Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
* Back up for other employees and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. or 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations. Proven knowledge of debits, credits and journal entry process.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:
* Experience with accounting systems
* Familiarity with AP automation tools and processes.
* Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment
* Must be organized, a self-starter, and detail oriented
* Ability to work independently and with a team
* Strong problem solving skills

Compensation: $65-75,000/year
